Research projects on cost-benefit analyses of occupational safety and health measures for small and medium-sized enterprises have been carried out. Possible economic incentives for preventive actions have been analysed, such as points systems for accident insurance. EU-OSHA’s latest project focuses on the macro level and looks at the societal costs that can arise as a result of insufficient preventive action with a European and international comparison.
